Contents |
Northern Exposure took a mostly light-hearted look behind-the-scenes at the North edition of STV News at Six (prior to that, North Tonight) and featured interviews with reporters & production staff.
Between September 2007 and February 2009, the blogs presented by Kirstin Gove were given over to a popular feature series unofficially entitled Ask Kirstin, in which Gove answered questions about STV North (previously Grampian Television) from the website's forums and features clips from the archives. The series also featured occasional interviews with North Tonight reporters, presenters and producers.
Its success led to the launch of White Not MacKay, a feature series on sister video blog The Real MacKay, presented and produced by STV Central newsreader Louise White.
As part of the blog, special editions from STV North's studios in Dundee & Inverness were presented and produced by Tayside news presenter/reporter Susan Nicholson and Highlands correspondent Nicola McAlley. Other guest presenters/producers included reporter Claire Stewart, stand-in anchor Laura Goodwin, weather forecaster Seán Batty and work experience student Rebecca Morris.
Although not an on-screen regular for STV News programming, production journalist Louise Steel was a regular presenter and producer for Northern Exposure.
